Setting Up “Buy X Get Y” Discounts
Now, let’s dive into the backend of your Shopify store, where the magic happens. I’ll guide you through every step of setting up these discounts. Here’s a brief overview:
1. Creating the Discount Code: Start by navigating to your Shopify admin dashboard and clicking on “Discounts.” This is where you’ll create the discount code responsible for the “Buy X Get Y” deal.
2. Configuring the Discount: Define which product the customer needs to buy and which one they’ll receive for free. Set the quantity, select the products, and choose the discount amount (usually free).
3. Activation Dates: If you want to run a time-limited promotion, you can specify the dates during which the discount will be active. This is a great way to create a sense of urgency.
4. Giving Away the Same Product: If you want to offer the same product as a free item (e.g., Buy 2, Get 1 Free), it’s a breeze. Simply adjust the quantity and make sure to choose the correct product.
Once you’ve saved your discount, your Shopify store will automatically apply it when customers meet the specified criteria.
