How To Choose Domain For Your Blog

Nothing is more important to choose and buy a good domain name to create a blog. Every project I start saying to myself …: please, this time do not be impatient. But no way, as I want and I have to account finger ready to click and buy domain in GoDaddy.

Anyway, I’ll share with you the tips I’ve received over the years and I will continue in my next project:

Choose a domain that set the theme of your Blog

The crack of social media mega says you should not create a blog until you have clear domain name , since it defines the theme of the blog. These were not his exact words but what I remember of course Bloggers .

For example : If you want to create a blog about recipes, ideally you should buy something like bestrecipes.com . But today .com buy this kind is impossible . However, you can have imagination and buy a much more creative domain. For example, you can attach your first name and theme of the Blog: bestrecipesname.com

Creativity has a limit: buy .com

A lack of .com worthwhile , it is becoming fashionable to buy domains with rare endings. One which is getting increasingly popular, at least in the technological category are .io domains. What many do not know is that these domains are subject to the laws of a particular country and you can do whatever you want with these domains.

This happens with all domains that are under the tutelage of a country, for example: .com, .de, .pt, etc. But of course, is not the same Spain that the British Indian Ocean Territory (territory to which they belong so popular .io domains). So think twice before buying domains of this type.

Check if the name is also free on Social Networks

A very useful practice and recommended before buying domain , is to check if the domain name you have in  your mind is also free on Twitter, Facebook, Google+, etc. To avoid having to go one by one I recommend using NameCheckList .

Just enter the domain name you want to use for your Blog / Website and tells you if it is free the domain and if it is in the most popular social networks. You can see an example in the following image :

After many years on the Internet I have registered several domains providers: Domiteca, Dynadot, Mediatemple and GoDaddy . In fact, before most of my domains at GoDaddy had them but following an affair with SOPA and was so tired of dealing with your admin panel spent most of my domains to GoDaddy .

You I can honestly say it is one of the best companies to register your domain .Eye !, not say that no other better since I have not had a chance to test all the world.

There are many companies that sell domains, but after testing more than 10 vendors I recommend that you register your domain in GoDaddy. Why do I give 4 reasons why you should register your domain in GoDaddy:

• Process to buy the domain simple and intuitive. To keep in mind if you ever have registered domain.
• Support and excellent customer.
• Panel easy to use options. It’s all clear and understood perfectly.
• A reasonable price. Not the cheapest you can find but their prices are very competitive.
